Land Cruiser 200 Series Bolt-On Rock Sliders with Kicker
Defending the most vulnerable areas of your 200 Series Land Cruiser, BudBuilt sliders are engineered to protect both rocker panel and frame alike. As with all BudBuilt products, our sliders are CAD designed by mechanical engineers, with specialties in material science and failure analysis. Combining formal education with decades of engineering and hard-core rock crawling experience, BudBuilt has the proven edge to make products the best they can be.
BudBuilt sliders begin with the strongest foundation in the industry, 3/8" thick, solid steel plate that running the entire height of the frame rail. This foundation works in conjunction with additional 3/8" plates that mount on the back and inside of the frame rail. A combination of massive 5/8" and 3/4" grade 8 hardware "sandwich" the outer and inner 3/8" plates to the Land Cruiser's frame, with additional M8 10.9 grade metric hardware securing to existing captive nuts. This industry exclusive design provides an absolutely rock solid surface for the sliders to be built on. We have seen too many frames buckled inward from other sliders that do not distribute the Toyota's crushing load appropriately.
Six (6) 1.75" .120 steel legs with additional reinforcing gussets and an industry exclusive triangulated legs
solidly mounts the frame plate to the main tube. We choose this design for its superior strength qualities over three (3) leg designs, regardless of round of square tubing. Our main tube is constructed of 2" .120 steel tube, providing a rock solid, smooth sliding surface. Angled 20° upward from the main tube, the outer tube is constructed of 1.75" .120 steel tube with smooth angles to stand up to constant abuse and not hang up on rocks. Four (4) additional reinforcement 1.5" .120 steel tube legs tie the main and outer tubes together, creating a total of six (6) connecting points. This design further increases rigidity and strength across the entire slider. Total distance from the Land Cruiser's frame to the outer tube is 15.5".
Our kicker design is accomplished by forming the outer tube to smoothly add 2" of additional protection to the rear of the slider. When driving on tight and narrow trails, the kicker greatly reduces fender impacts from rocks and trees by either kicking the Land Cruiser away from danger, or preventing the Land Cruiser from getting too close to an obstacle to begin with. BudBuilt's kicker, combined with our massive 20º upward angle, provides massive ground clearance and protection where you need it most. From the Land Cruiser's frame to the furthest point on the kicker is 17.5".

Recommended for use in rock crawling applications, where hard impacts from the sharp edges of a rock is likely to occur. DOM offers off-roaders and overlanders a better "dent resistant" metal process as compared to HREW.
Technically, DOM is not a type of steel tube, but rather the process in which the tube is finished. It is considered a high quality tube. The first stages of manufacturing are identical to ones used to make HREW tube, but in the finishing stages, the entire flash weld is removed and the tube is cold drawn over a mandrel. The cold drawn process provides the tube with better dimensional tolerances, improved surface finish and the strongest weld strength achievable.

Dimple Die Up is our modern take on diamond plate. Evenly spaced 2" laser cut holes are individually pressed to giving dimension and purpose. Once orientated up, form joins function, and the pressed edges offer a high traction step surface.
