This adapter is used to properly adjust the drive line angle, when mounting a single transfer case to a BudBuilt dual transfer case crossmember.  If you plan to eventually run a dual transfer case setup, but still have a single case and want to upgrade to a BudBuilt crossmember.  Buying this adapter will let you run the dual case crossmember now, instead of buying a single case crossmember, then having to buy another BudBuilt crossmember down the road.
